Outreach Programme

Associate Village Programme :

The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Alak K Buragohain, inaugurated the newly instituted extension service programme named as Associate Village Programme to reach out to the neighbouring villages of Dibrugarh University in Pohari Khania village on 1st February 2014. Dibrugarh University is committed towards extension activities in neighbouring areas by undertaking short-term computer courses for students, skill-based short term courses for entrepreneurial development and health awareness programmes.

Health Awareness Camp:

A Health Awareness Camp for mother and new born health was held this year in August 2014 at the Associate Village of the University i.e., Puhari Khania, Dibruagrh. A free Hemoglobin Estimation and distribution of Iron-Folic Acid tablets was carried out amongst them. A Booklet in Assamese was also distributed amongst the persons attending the Camp. The booklet was published by Dibrugarh University Administration.

 

Computer Training:

The Centre for Computer Studies conducted a short-term computer training programme under the aegis of Associate Village Programme. 19 students participated in the three month computer course. They learnt the basics of computers, about operating systems, about MS Word, MS Excel and Powerpoint. They were also taught internet surfing and installing and uninstalling software. During the course, three competitions were organized amongst the students using Paint Brush, MS Word and MS Powerpoint. The winners were awarded.
