A well-stocked library is an asset to any educational institution as is the Laxminath Bezbaroa Central Library of Dibrugarh University. It is a four storeyed building with an area of 33570 sq.ft. and it is named after Lakshminath Bezbaroa, the doyen of Modern Assamese Literature. It a very well stocked library with all state of the art amenities. Various  sections like 'Circulation', 'Acquisition', 'Processing works', 'General office', 'Current Periodical Section' etc are located  in the ground floor. The stack and reading areas are in the 1st and 2nd floors. Back volumes (Periodicals) are shelved in the top floor. The Library has a well-equipped Reference section, and both short and long range reference services are rendered to the readers. The Central Library has several specialized collections for readers, such as- Gandhi corner, Bezbaroa Corner, Human Rights Corner, North-East Corner, etc. The Library has a separate collection of Ph.d Thesis and Dissertation submitted to the University. The Library follows the Open Access System. It practices the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC) and AACR-II cataloging scheme. A practical orientation is provided to the students at the commencement of each academic session on ways to avail the different library facilities. In keeping pace  with the current  information explosion the University has decided to go for full automation of the Library with networking facilities. Retrospective databases for Books, Periodicals (back-volumes) as well as thesis & Dissertations have been already been developed. The circulation system has been fully computerized by using 'SOUL' software. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is working since January 2003. The Library provides access to E-Journals under Infonet-E-Journal consortium. The INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network) sponsored project provides full-text access to scholarly Journals and archival access to back volumes. The facility started from January 1st, 2004 provides access to around 4700 E-Journals.

Access to Ezproxy and Fedgate


EzProxy is a tool that provides remote access to the e-resources for off-campus users. It facilitates a single sign-on using username and password.


FedGate is a combined search engine for all the e-resources. FedGate searches through multiple e-resources in real-time through a single search box to present relevant information in a structured format.
