Rural development, one of the prime agenda of development programmes and policies has been always an attention of the academicians and concerned institutions. Keeping this view in mind and hoping for a better livable and lovable India, Dibrugarh University, the easternmost university of India has been trying to impart rural development awareness and knowledge among the selected students. Centre for Studies in Rural Development (CSRD) is a specialized way to that premier goal. It’s an inclusive way to teaching, learning, experiencing and expanding knowledge education and understanding of Rural India, the Real India. The Centre is continuously trying to give students not only the concerned knowledge and degree but also implanting the culture of rural responsibility and indomitable servicing spirit among the eager young hearts for a developed future.
As a self financing centre CSRD has already completed its successful six years starting from September 6, 2007. The passed out students have been successfully established in different government and non-government organizations and educational institutions. Besides many of them have been undertaking different rural based entrepreneurial works independently and generating further employment opportunities along with gainful self employment. The centre is well endowed with efficient, enthusiastic and trained teaching stuff. The main premise of the centre is located in the second floor of the building of Economics Department of Dibrugarh University.
